Trucksess Family Christmas Letter

Greetings from the Trucksess Family!

It is hard to believe another year has passed.

David is a sophomore in high school. He still enjoys wrestling. To get in shape, he spent last summer working for a concrete contractor. We are proud of his determination. In only two months he will have his full license and be driving without his parents! Where did the time go? David is also an active member of the Faith Church youth group. His latest interests are hunting and target shooting.

Daniel is in 7th grade. He enjoys football, baseball, basketball and wrestling. He is popular at school and displays good leadership qualities. In only two months, he will have his drivers permit. Two boys behind the wheel is more than we are ready for. He is an active member of the junior high youth group and just returned from a mission trip to Chicago with them.

Deanna is in 3rd grade. Her hobbies are dance and a girls club at church called Faith Girls. She also enjoys AWANA at church. She is almost always in a good mood and you can’t help but smile while around her.

Cindy is busy transporting everyone to their respective events, helping at church, keeping a home presentable so we can host guests and flourishing in her role as wife and mother. Last January, Cindy began joining me in the gym four days a week over my lunch hour. Exercise has improved her health and given us time together apart from the children. The lunch-hour date is a chance to relieve some stress and reconnect.

Kurt released two books on the christ2Rculture.com web site. One called Reasons to Believe Your Bible, the other is a preaching commentary on the book of James called James: Practical Christianity. His time is spent caring for the church, researching and writing. His favorite activities are loving his family and exercising with his wife.

Life at Faith Church is beyond our expectations. The church body continues to grow numerically and financially. This year, the church gave 1/4 million dollars in beyond budget to cover emergency building repairs. In the last few weeks, we began the process of upgrading our stage, lighting and video. This will strengthen our internet presence and provide the technological infrastructure for the church to become multi-campus in the future.

This Christmas, we are reflecting on the greatness of Jesus as captured in the beginning of the book of John.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1–5 (ESV)

As we celebrate Christmas, we remember Jesus was much more than a baby. As the second person of the Trinity, there never was a time he did not exist. He is fully God and the one who made all things. He is the source of all life. All of his identity he permanently fused with humanity in Jesus to become the one person who could, and did, make the sacrifice for our sin.

How marvelous is the gift of Jesus! Nothing under our tree compares to the gift God gave us in Jesus.

There is no greater gift that could be given. As you celebrate Christmas and prepare for the new year, we encourage you to reflect on the greatness of Jesus.

Because of Christ,

Pastor Kurt, Cindy, David, Daniel, and Deanna
