1 Peter 4:7-11 - How Do I Prepare For The End Of The World?

Billboards proclaimed May 21, 2011 as Judgment Day. Harold Camping wanted the world to prepare for the return of Christ. May 21, 2011 came and went. Nothing happened. While Harold Camping falsely predicted the date of Christ's return, the Bible tells us Christ will return. We should prepare for it, but not with billboards. How should we live our life to prepare for that final day? Peter gives us practical answers.

Daniel 7 - Four Beasts and the Throne of God

Daniel 7 begins the apocalyptic section of the book. What is God telling us when it comes to a metal-mouthed monsters and a little horn that insult God? This chapter is not all difficulty and perplexity. It has a clear message to play hard for the team of Jesus. While the battle is rough, keep your eyes on the prize of reigning with Jesus. If we stay faithful to the end, we will be on the winning team when the dust finally settles.

Psalm 2 - Immediate and Unconditional Surrender

edge

We are told to invite Jesus into our hearts. The decision to invite Jesus into our hearts sounds like deciding on having cream or sugar in our coffee. It is far too self orientated. According to Psalm 2, Jesus doesn't ask for us to invite him in, he commands us to repent of our sin. We must flee to him as the only shield that can protect us from God's white hot wrath. We are commanded to immediately and unconditionally surrender to Christ's rulership in our life or face Christ's terrifying wrath when he returns.
