Acts 20:28-38 - The Priorities Of A Good Church Leader

In his final words to the Ephesian elders, Paul lays out five marks of a successful spiritual leader — and they apply to every believer with influence over others, not just pastors. Personal holiness comes first: a leader's private walk with God matters more than their public gifting. From there, Paul calls leaders to care for the flock as those bought with Christ's own blood, to protect them from false teachers both outside and inside the church, to stay anchored in prayer and Scripture, and to serve free from the love of money. The message closes with Paul's tearful farewell to the Ephesian elders — a picture of what it looks like to finish well, remembered not for eloquence but for a life that set the example.
